Grant MacEwan University, a public post-secondary institution in Edmonton, recently expanded its campus by acquiring neighboring properties. Given the age of these buildings, there was a scarcity of existing building plans. Recognizing the importance of accurate, detailed digital blueprints for their projects, the facilities management and design teams sought our expertise.
As-Built Measuring Services was enlisted to perform thorough surveys of the newly acquired properties. We produced comprehensive drawing sets encompassing floor plans, elevations, ceiling plans, plenum plans, and roof plans. These detailed plans depicted not only the architectural and structural features but also the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and low voltage elements within the buildings.
Armed with these digital assets, our client’s designers, engineers, and other stakeholders now had a valuable resource for maintaining, repurposing, and redeveloping these properties.
Impressed by the quality, value, and efficiency of our survey and drafting teams, we were further contracted to create site plans for their lands and buildings, covering approximately 8 city blocks. These plans meticulously detailed the hardscaping, landscaping, surface utilities, and adjacent city infrastructure.
We remain committed to providing ongoing survey and drafting support to the design, facilities, and site safety teams, contributing to the continuous enhancement of the campus infrastructure.
