About the Project:
Our client, a multi-national hospitality organization, was planning a major renovation to the hotel common areas. To ensure accuracy in the design, planning, and budgeting stages of the project, we were engaged to provide comprehensive as-builts of the existing conditions.
Execution Plan:
When our survey teams go to site, they take care to minimize any impact on existing operations. With this goal in mind, the team combined lidar scanning technology supplemented with laser distance measuring and photos of components that would be outside of the scanner’s field of view. In so doing, they were able to capture a detailed data set without impacting the guest experience.

The Deliverables:
After the 2 day site visit, the survey team transferred their data to the production team who got to work transforming the point cloud scans, photos, and measurements into a Revit model. This comprehensive 3D model contained all visible architectural, structural components, as well as built-in millwork, mechanical, electrical, and life safety components. The model and accompanying plan set were delivered within 2.5 weeks of our site visit.
